Who am I?

“How can I leave anything that I love?”

As an artist, I aim to explore the ideas of attachment, to the people and things you love, to the life you love, and to the things that you want but cannot have. As a child, I would read a lot, as in all of the time, at dinner, on the playground, and under the blankets long into the night, thanks to the insomnia that still keeps me awake. My works are inspired by the things that I imagine in books, but I aim to present them in a way that evokes strong emotion regarding love- in whatever form that may be.

I primarily work with found and recycled materials as well as clay. I don’t solely create work regarding “love” however, I also work with themes of gender and equality. My art aims to represent questions both obvious and infinite.

I began my life with a deep love for books and science, however, as I got older, I felt pressure to conform so that people would like me. Eventually, I fell into a depression, making art is how I survived. My work has very feminine forms and shapes, but they also represent science.

My love of science is displayed through many facets of my work. From the small repeating patterns to the cell-like forms that my sculptures embody. As an artist, I aim to combine forms with biological references with emotional themes to appeal to the subconscious of the viewer.
